Joseph had called her parents in the evening to say she was at the college library, and has not been seen or heard from since.

The institute said it is cooperating with the family ofJoseph but said she "has not been a student enrolled at NYIT since May 2013; as such, we are unable to provide any current information."

The Nassau County Police Department confirmed that Josephwas not enrolled at NYIT for the current semester and that her parents were not aware of that fact.
